João Lucas is a young skimboard athlete from Angra dos Reis, Brazil. At 17, he had already made a name for himself in the sport, representing Brazil in the Skimboard World Championships in the United States. In 2023, João Lucas participated in two stages of the world championship, both held in California, with one stage in Laguna Beach on the 26th and 27th of August, and another in Victoria Beach on the 16th and 17th of September. His passion for skimboarding began about four years ago, inspired by a friend. He had his first contact with a skimboard in a family mechanic shop, where he found a wooden board.

João Lucas aims to become the best skimboarder in the world, demonstrating remarkable dedication and ambition for his age. He is known for his ability to "drop", which is the act of running towards the wave, launching the board and jumping on it to surf.

João Lucas was Brazilian amateur champion in 2021, won 3rd place as a professional in 2022 and 4th in the Skimboard world rankings.
